TITLE: DISASTER MANAGEMENT IN LIBRARIES
ABSTRACT: Disasters are as ancient as human civilization. Disasters do not occur in isolation; they occur collectively and in combination. Social, administrative, and political reforms take many years to bring about change, whereas the impact of a disaster is felt immediately. Disasters cause enormous loss of property, and as a result, their effects are seen in social, political, cultural, and other fields. Therefore, disaster mitigation and management are essential. The English term Disaster is derived from the French word Desastre. In this, Des means bad and Aster means star. Thus, disaster literally means a “bad star,” implying a calamity or catastrophe
